Let's go to THAILAND....speciaalluuu!! ~right after exam heart break ver.~(Part 2)

For those of you who are looking forward to this post, I totally apologize for the delay... I've been pretty busy lately doing nothing...hohohohoho!! Anyway, here is part two of our "Let's go to THAILAND....speciaalluuu!! ~right after exam heart break ver.~"!

Location: Pattaya, Thailand

As I was pretty much asleep the whole way there...I didnt take any pics>_>....but I think it was a good thing as my mom said we almost died a few times! hahaha>_<.....Anyway, although the taxi drivers skill was crazy, the same can't be said for the other motorists on the road...it's like there isn't any slow lane and fast lane, anything works here as long as u don't kill someone!

After a few hours, we finally reached Pattaya...we stayed at my father's service apartment in the Jomtien Beach area(don't remember what it's called...>_>), and it was a pretty nice place. It had a kitchen, a pretty large living room and a very big washroom but it only had one queen sized bed...so...for the entire 7 days I was there...I got to know the couches personally...the long one's Dave and the other two are Minna and Cindy respectively....hohohoh>_<...here's a pic

Strangely enough, it was kinda comfortable sleeping on the sofa...I guess I can pretty much sleep anywhere

The next day we went shopping for food stuff at Tesco(yay!>_>), anyway...words cant describe what I found...see for urself!

This durian was absolutely the biggest durian i have ever seen! It was humongous!
And the fruit within was fist sized!! ^_^

During the night, we went here...

At nite it's a pretty busy street, with lots of food, drinks, beer, beer and more beer...

And yeah, I forgot to mention that 7-11 like the one on the right of the pic is EVERYWERE in Pattaya...I mean you'll see one every 10 meters or so! Well sort of...

Anyway the street is just so beautiful with the neon lights, it captivates me like a moth attracted to fire...but not just because of the neons >_<...and it isnt too long or too short...just nice for a walk!

Now down to serious business, bad news for you if you're travelling with you're parents to Pattaya...because...not only is walking street full of this...

It's also full of this....

And this..>_<

So for god's sake man, if you're in Pattaya with ur parents...find a way to sneak out of the hotel and get here man! Run man! Run like the wind!!

Anyway, during my stay there I found another convenience store vying for the most mushrooming award in Pattaya...

Family mart and 7-11 are EVERYWHERE here in Pattaya...if you see a 7-11, there surely will be a family mart lurking near by! Business rivalry to the MAX...fooOOOO!

And I also found something similar between our cultures, that is they too sell food on the streets...but unlike our mamak stall, they sell a lot of fried food as shown in the pic...and some stalls even have barbequed seafood! All hail unhealthy food!!

(BTW, there's an ultraman sticker on the bottom right)

ok, now motorbikes are the main mode of transportation for many...and there are many places where you can rent one...bikes here range from Harleys to this...

...cool bike and my all time favorite...

VESPA!! ^_^ (neways, check out the Japanese plate)

Another popular and cheap mode of transportation in Thailand is the Tuk-tuk...but the ones here are rather different than the regular known Tuks, anyway without any knowledge of what they are called I will just call them "Big Tuk" (FYI to use the big tuk, juz get on as it functions like a bus...and when you feel like getting off just press the button located on the ceiling of the vehicle and go pay the driver around 20 Baht).

And here's a one in action with a semi-full complement of Farangs.(neways, farang is similar to our cantonese gweilou)

Phew! And with that I conclude the 2nd chapter of our special...sorry for the extremely long post because I don't feel like breaking it down to too many parts...(alright I'm lazy>_<)

Anyway, next stop...Bangkok!

Globalisation:Stickers ~Hong Kong Special~ (part 1)

In line with the recent speeches by our beloved Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, on the importance of globalisation on the growth of the nation’s economic, cultural, blablabla… we from the stickymovement.com had decided that it was time for the stickers to move out from the little peninsula of Malaysia to the outer world… and to…

Yup, Hong Kong… we proudly present to you, “Globalisation:Stickers ~Hong Kong Special~”. Here we would introduce the little characters behind the stickers to the people in Hong Kong… as well as interesting sights around there. This would be the second installment after “Let's go to THAILAND....speciaalluuu!! ~right after exam heart break version~” in our long awaited (not) “World Series Special”.

Date: 20th November 2006
Time: 20.36
Location: In some road in Tsim Sha Tsui

Man… this place kinda reminds me of the narrower version of Bukit Bintang (at night at least with all the lights and stuff...) pic i took of the night scene in Tsim Sha Tsui...

Walking around, looks like someone in Malaysia (lol, just assuming, can be anyone from any country who speaks malay) had already took the advice of product globalisation to Hong Kong and cooperated with some company in Japan and there u go… “Raja Fashions” (Raja means King in malay, thus Fashion King) with some japanese characters with it.

Well back to the main point of the story… “Globalisation:Stickers”. So there goes our little sticker… its located right in front of Ramada Hotel entrance.

Let's go to THAILAND....speciaalluuu!! ~right after exam heart break ver.~ (Part 1)

Time: 0200
Location:in front of pc
Author: Lt. shittaro

It's been an incredible week, I was amazed, I was eating until breaking point and I was "hit"(I prefer the word fondled) at by some girl on the street...and all this happened in Thailand! The land of fun, beer, hot chicks and basically more beer!

So now, I will be interrupting our regular programming and bring the much awaited(or maybe not) "Let's go to THAILAND....speciaalluuu!! ~right after exam heart break ver.~" series!! This special series basically details my experience and the sights I see in Thailand. And as you can see it was a day after my fateful exam hence the heart break version...-_-" ....anyways lets not dwell in it any longer shall we? LET'S GO!

Location: Malaysia
I havent traveled for a long time, so you could imagine how panicked I was when my sister suddenly made a left hand turn AWAY from KLIA...I was like what the hell?! Anyway, the food at the LCCT(something cafe...dont remember name) was ok I guess...and they had free soft drink refills...woohoo!! So after a couple of cokes and going through all the usual airport procedure, I finally got to see my ride...

Airasia wasn't kidding when they say that "Now Everyone Can Fly", even the characters from our very own "Kampung Boy" can now wander the world and interact with other kampungs worldwide!!

And look who I found lying around the window of the plane....skully! >_<
Location: Thailand
After about 2 hours, I finally arrived at Bangkok airspace! The time difference between KL and here is about 1 hour, with Bangkok 1 hour behind KL...so when we took off at around 9am, we reached here at 10am local time...another hour of my life saved! Anyway, on the way to landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, I spotted an immensely long elevated highway...it was incredible,I think it's at least 30KM in length, and about 6-storey high...here's an aerial view

Here's a ground view of it...I could hardly see the end of it!

The airport itself was huge, I think it took me 5 minutes or so to walk to immigration...and then i saw it...I thought it was just rumours or legend but it was true! A lot of people I know who went to Thailand before says that there are a lot of hot chicks there, but I never believed it...until now! My god man, the customs officer who checked my passport was HOT! If I was an icecream I would have melted instantly(damn my icecream fetish!)!!! Anyway, after melting and getting my luggage, I spotted a pretty cute pillar...

I think it was a character for some event...pretty cute no?

And so, with luggage in hand...me and my mom started to walk around aimlessly looking for the cheapest taxi to our next destination: Pattaya!! In the end, we finally found it(unfortunately)...it is advised to take a level down from the arrival hall of the airport and look for the meter taxi(you'll know when you see it,if not reference pic below)...it's way cheaper than the limo waiting at the gates of the hall but safety is not guaranteed...

As we found out the hard way >_>...but I have to admit their driving skills are insane!!! They would weave in and out of traffic like Schumacher, it was like being the in Crazy Taxi!(btw, it's about 1300 baht from the airport straight to Pattaya)

That's all for part 1 folks...stay tuned for part 2...Destination: Pattaya!>_<
